Another fire was reported Wednesday night at a recycling plant in North Las Vegas. The fire started about 11:40 p.m. at the Republic Services Center at Gowan Road and Commerce Street. North Las Vegas Fire spokesman Cedric Williams said the blaze started in a yard at the facility and then spread to a building, causing a fair amount of damage to both. No one was injured in the blaze. Firefighters remained at the scene for a while to monitor hot spots. An air quality alert was issued for locations north of the plant because of the smoke. Williams said a smoldering load of recyclables that was dumped at the plant likely started the fire. This is the fourth fire at a waste facility in the Las Vegas area this summer. Three of those fires have happened in North Las Vegas.
