The Old Theater in Winnemucca was fully engulfed in a fire early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The police department said in a statement that the 200 block of Bridge Street was evacuated due to the fire at about 2 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28.
The Humboldt County Dispatch Center was advised of a possible explosion, followed by a fire, though the cause is still under investigation.
Members of Winnemuca's police and fire departments and the Humboldt County Fire Department responded, with officers assisting in evacuations and pedestrian control.
The state fire marshal arrived and found the structure unsafe to enter, according to the statement.
There are no reports of any injuries.
