Las Vegas Fire and Rescue reported 22 apartment residents were displaced following a fire Thursday night.
The fire was reported about 8:15 p.m. at 209 North 18th Street, near North Bruce Street and Stewart Avenue.
According to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, arriving firefighters found heavy fire, and smoke between a pair of two-story apartment buildings, with four units each. A fence separated the two buildings, but there was a high amount of combustible items between the buildings.
The fire was under control within 15 minutes, the department said.
Fire investigators reported the fire started in a patio area between two buildings. There were no injuries reported.
Investigators said careless smoking couldn’t be ruled out as the cause of the fire. It appeared to be accidental.
Most of the damage was on the outside, and attic areas of the buildings, the department said. At least two unit shad extensive interior damage. Investigators estimated damage at $200,000.
