A fire that began in the attic space of a Henderson convenience store caused $75,000 in damage, Thursday morning. Henderson Fire Department was dispatched around 8:40 a.m. to a commercial structure fire at 306 N. Boulder Highway near Lake Mead Parkway. When crews arrived at the scene, they saw smoke and fire on the roof of a Terrible Herbst convenience store. Crews organized an offensive attack and applied water to the fire on the roof and building interior. A second alarm was called and then canceled when firefighters were able to control the fire with the resources they already had on the scene. Five people were safely evacuated from the business and no injuries were reported.
