Reno Fire Department crews have stopped progress of a brush fire in Lemmon Valley, and they are in pop-up mode. The fire was reported about 3:45PM July 12, 2018 off Lemmon Drive and Heindel Road, just west of Highway 395. It started behind homes. There are structures nearby, but no evacuations were called for. Battalion Chief Mark Bohach says wind blew the fire away from homes, and the only road closures were Lemmon Drive from 395 to North Virginia, and Heindel Road.
Bohach says the fire burned about two acres. There is no word yet regarding a cause.
