Crews are battling an apartment fire that broke out Thursday morning in the northeast valley. Smoke and flames could be seen at a building in the Liberty Village Apartment Homes complex near Nellis Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue. In an email, Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan said crews responded just after 6:10 a.m. to a report of a fire. Crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming out of a second-floor apartment and were able to knock down the fire by 6:22 a.m., according to Buchanan.
