A fire that probably started in a sofa on a patio resulted in a minor injury to a firefighter and three occupants being displaced late Saturday.
The call to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue came at 11:48 p.m. at West Washington and Comstock avenues, near Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Arriving firefighters found a large patio behind a one-story wood frame/stucco house heavily involved with fire, which was beginning to burn the back of the house.
Firefighters were told that the three occupants of the house were out and not injured.
It took firefighters about 15 minutes to put the main fire out. It was confined to the patio. The rear of the house also sustained some damage, the interior of the home had minor smoke damage. Damage was estimated at $15,000.
Fire investigators believe the fire started on a sofa that was on the patio. Careless smoking could not be ruled out.
