Obituary: Richard Darril Foremaster, Retired Sparks Fire Department Deputy Chief

Richard Darril Foremaster passed away on October 27th at the Northern Nevada Medical Center. Born December 3, 1942 at Washoe Medical Center to John and Maria Foremaster of Sparks. He is preceded in death by both parents, brothers David and Michael. He is survived by wife Charlotte (Northness) Foremaster, son Douglas, grandsons Richard and Jarrod and great granddaughter Preslee all of the Reno/Sparks area. He graduated from White Pine High School in 1960 after which he enlisted in the US Army serving a three year tour in Europe with the 97th Engineers. After discharge in 1964 he sought a career in the Fire Service and retired from the City of Sparks Fire Department in 1992 as Deputy Chief. During his career, he attended Western Nevada Community College earning a degree in Fire Science. He also applied for and was accepted to attend the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD completing several courses in their Executive Fire Officer Training Program.
