A man sustained life-threatening injuries in an apartment fire in Midtown Reno Sunday. Three police officers who pulled the unconscious man out of the smoke-filled Joseph’s Inn at 101 State Street were also treated, Battalion Chief John McNamara says. Two were treated on scene and a third was taken to a hospital for further evaluation. The fire department arrived on scene after the call shortly after midnight the morning of October 28, 2018, and police had already pulled the man out of the third-story apartment and were giving him medical treatment. Firefighters contained the fire to one apartment, McNamara says. No one else was displaced by the fire. Firefighters also got a dog out of the apartment and it was taken to Washoe County Animal Control. No information has been released about the dog’s condition. The fire’s cause has not been determined.
