East Fork Fire Protection District in Douglas County responded Wednesday afternoon to a brush fire burning in the area of a controlled burn near the Minden-Tahoe Airport. It was reportedly knocked down at around 4:30 p.m., according to a battalion chief on scene. Multiple calls came into both Douglas County and Carson City dispatch beginning at around 4 p.m. regarding the fire, which put up a large plume of smoke. There has been controlled burning in the area this week. Firefighters on the scene said the fire was somewhere between 10 and 15 acres. The Record-Courier tweets the fire was in the area of Highway 395 near Airport Road. "There's been a controlled burn there over the past few days, and it sounds like maybe the wind caught it."
