The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District reports the Pioche Fire in Palomino Valley is fully contained as of Wednesday night, after burning 80 acres.
The human-caused fire, an apparent accident after someone was welding, broke out Sunday, September 16, 2018. It was reported in the area of Ironwood and Wilcox Ranch roads around 10:25 a.m.
The fire burned away from structures, though several were threatened over the course of the firefight in Palomino Valley. There were no evacuations.
