Heavy smoke could be seen coming from a shopping center near the Las Vegas Strip Thursday afternoon. Black smoke billowed out of the southwest corner of Harmon Avenue and Paradise Road, just east of Las Vegas Boulevard, starting around 1:20 p.m. The smoke had started to clear as of 1:30 p.m. Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan with the Clark County Fire Department said crews responded to a car fire in the area, and no injuries were reported.
