The city’s only Vietnamese firefighter says he was almost fried by some of his fellow smoke-eaters. A handful of bigots at Brooklyn’s Engine 207 tormented Minh-Bao Pham with racial slurs like “Charlie,” “chink” and “gook,” and even threw firecrackers at him, according to a lawsuit. Pham, 33, alleges supervisors “condoned and encouraged” the hateful behavior, according to papers he filed last week in Manhattan Supreme Court. Moreover, when his wife went into premature labor, delivering a stillborn child, the firefighter says he was given just two weeks off then slammed as “lazy” when he returned, according to court documents.
