Lockport Fire Department is finally equipped and ready to provide advanced life support for those experiencing potentially fatal medical events, more than six months after receiving clearance from the state to do so.
Back in January, New York State granted LFD a two-year temporary certification to provide Advanced Life Support First Response, while the department goes through the lengthy application process for permanent ALSFR certification. The plan is for LFD to supplement, not replace, Twin City Ambulance's emergency medical response.
