Rochester firefighters were called out to a two-alarm fire on Tuesday night in the South Wedge neighborhood. It happened just before 8:30 at the corner of Gregory Street and South Clinton Avenues.
When firefighters got there, they found heavy black smoke pouring out of all three stories of a large, mixed use building at 699 South Clinton. That situation, coupled with the strong winds and not knowing how many people were inside caused a 2nd alarm to be called. Fire crews did find that everyone had gotten out of the building, and no injuries were reported.
