Williamsville is spending nearly $1.13 million to purchase two engines for its Fire Department. This week, the Village Board awarded a bid to 4 Guys Inc. of Meyersdale, Pa. It was the only bid received for the equipment. Two 2003 Ferrara engines will be replaced. The department's heavy-duty rescue truck is also being downsized to a medium-size rescue with a F-650 chassis. The purchase is through department's capital replacement plan. The $1.13 million cost is expected to be offset by about $200,000 from trading in the older vehicles. The Fire Department expects to take receipt of the engines sometime in 2018. The department also has a 2011 aerial ladder truck among the larger apparatus in its fleet.
