Firefighters spent nearly an hour trying to put out a massive blaze early Monday after five tractor-trailer trucks caught fire in a parking lot overnight. The trucks -- normally used to pull trailers -- were parked at Beam Mack Sales & Service at 6260 E. Molloy Road, DeWitt. The truck cabs were not attached to trailers. A passerby spotted two trucks on fire at about 4 a.m. Monday and called 911, said East Syracuse Fire Chief Chris Shields. The fire soon spread to three other trucks parked next to the first two, Shields said. The five vehicles were engulfed in flames and severely damage, he said.
