The Bath Volunteer Fire Department tried a unique way to perform its fire drills this week using a raw egg and other tools. Firefighters used the jaws of life rescue tool to play life size jenga and to also move a raw egg without breaking from one cone to another. The fire department justifies using what they called "foolish" drills by saying when faced with emergency situations, seconds count and so do the moves being made, meaning this helps with accuracy and teamwork because one small mistake could be disastrous. Rough cut hardwood cribbing was used for the jenga drills. The fire department says it shared many laughs, broke many eggs and tumbled piles of lumber but lessons were learned on seconds counting and lives being at stake.
