FDNY marshals are still investigating a blaze at a multiple-story home that firefighters battled Wednesday afternoon in New Brighton.
Firefighters were seen at the 153 Brighton Ave. home Thursday afternoon, rummaging through the rubble and examining the exterior of the green home. Pieces of the siding were charred and windows were boarded up with plywood.
A spokesperson for the FDNY said the cause of the fire still remains under investigation by fire marshals.
According to a source at the scene on Wednesday, at first look, it seemed the fire stated on the second floor and spread, but a proper investigation would be conducted.
One neighbor felt bad for the families who lived inside the home but admitted to not knowing them well.
