Kevin Crossley “loved anything with a motor.”
“He loved riding his Harley-Davidson,” Whitesboro police Chief Dominick Hiffa said. “If it had a motor, it made him smile ... especially a police car.”
Crossley, 34, a village of Whitesboro police officer, was killed Wednesday night in a motor vehicle accident on Oriskany Boulevard when his police vehicle and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Westmoreland Street.
“His whole life dream was to be a police officer. His job was his dream,” Hiffa said. “He loved his job. He was a great guy to work with.” Crossley is the son of George and Linda Crossley, “born and brought up in Whitesboro,” Hiffa said.
Elsewhere in the community, Whitesboro firefighters also were mourning Crossley.
“Kevin was a fireman here (at one time),” said assistant Fire Chief George Massarotti. “He was a helluva guy. He would do anything for you.”
