Firefighters from four departments were on the scene of a fire at the Corinth Little League complex early Friday, where a building used as a food stand and storage shed was heavily damaged.
The fire was reported on the Main Street property at 7:29 a.m. Corinth, Greenfield, Wilton and Luzerne-Hadley firefighters were sent to the scene, and West Glens Falls and Gansevoort firefighters were called out on standby.
Corinth assistant fire chief Kevin Granger said the blaze appeared to be electrical in origin.
The second floor of the building, where uniforms and food are stored, suffered the most severe damage.
Donna Briner, who helps run the league, said the uniforms for three teams were destroyed, and the league will be looking for donations to help outfit the kids and restock the pantry.
The season is scheduled to start on Saturday, April 28. About 240 kids play in the league on 22 teams.
