Firefighters rushed to the shore of Seneca Lake on Tuesday morning to rescue residents stranded by flooding. But the fast-moving floods blocked roadways with a 4-foot wall of trees and brush, said Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The water trapped firefighters with the residents they were trying to save. Firefighters and others are working to rescue approximately 50 people trapped in Lodi near Seneca Lake in Seneca County. Cuomo discussed the flooding and rescue efforts during a news conference late Tuesday morning near the Sunset on Seneca Campground on Lower Lake Road. Heavy rounds of rain pounded Seneca County on Tuesday, creating major flooding in the southern half of the county. And the flooding could get worse. "We have more rain coming," Cuomo said. "Time is not on our side."
