From the outside, the fire department's new mobile training center might just look like a black cargo container.
But this 48-foot-long and 13-foot-tall container is going to save lives, U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer said.
"This new mobile training trailer is a game changer," Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan said Friday. "It will continue to ensure that our fire department, and other firefighters in the region, have the most state of the art equipment, as they put their lives on the line every day."
The Albany Fire Department unveiled its new mobile fire training trailer Friday. The piece of equipment will allow firefighters to do live training exercises for things such as fire suppression, forcible entry, roof ventilation and search and rescue.
