A woman was treated for burns at Canton-Potsdam Hospital after the house she was in was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon. The Parishville Volunteer Fire Department was called to the residence at 3044 White Hill Road about 4 p.m. The home, owned by Kim Davies, 31, and Gerry Matthie, 41, was uninsured, Mr. Matthie said. He said he was at work at the time of the fire but that Ms. Davies and their four children, ages 7, 8, 10 and 12, were at home at the time. Ms. Davies received burns to her feet and forehead, according to her mother, Cherie Thomas, who arrived on the scene after firefighters had put out the fire. The children were uninjured and were staying with a relative. Parishville Volunteer Rescue Squad took Ms. Davies to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, to be treated for her injuries.
