A local firefighter is being credited with saving a woman's life after a heroic rescue. The fire happened at the Camelot Court Apartments in Canandaigua on Saturday. Crews say a woman in a wheelchair was trapped inside, no one able to get through to help. Thankfully, a firefighter was able to find her and get her to safety. But this incident did prompt a call to get a firefighter shortage in the area under control after a limited number of firefighters were able to respond. Firefighters in Canandaigua say they need more man power. They say the lives of firefighters and those who need help are being put at risk. But the City says the financial means are just not there right now and are urging volunteers to help out instead.
