A former EMT is suing a doctor who once claimed she falsified his signature on a disability form — but later recanted his accusation.
Susan James, 60, was fired after being caught up in a citywide take down of EMS workers who were accused in a 2016 disability insurance fraud scheme.
But the fraud charges against James were dropped in June 2017 after the doctor whose signature she was alleged to have forged recanted his statements, according to her recently filed Queens Supreme Court negligence suit.
The filing claims James received legitimate medical treatment from Dr. Ajendra Sohal from 2010 through 2012 for a knee injury.
“I don’t know if he [Sohal] lied or if it was a mistake,” James said. “I guess more information will come out.”
