Firefighters from six departments responded to a house fire on County Road 10 in Pharsalia Wednesday.
Once they arrived at the house, they were met with nothing but flames.
"By the time we got on the scene, the house was fully involved. There was a porch on the front of the house and that was completely engulfed in flames, and smoke coming out of the back," said Pharsalia Volunteer Fire Company Chief Ken Granger.
The fire department says the flames moved very quickly through the house. Neighbors were able to tell there was a fire almost immediately.
"I looked up and could see the smoke and so my wife and I went up to check things out and it was just a great big black plume of smoke. It was heavily involved and there was a lot of booms and bangs," said neighbor, James Grover.
The house was occupied at the time of the fire, but nobody was hurt.
