Two Auburn firefighters graduated from the state Academy of Fire Science in Schuyler County Friday.
Theodore Alnutt Jr. and Robert Gage were part of the 75th class to graduate from the Recruit Firefighter Training Program — the program's largest graduation class since its inception in 1984, according to a press release from the state Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. The 57 graduates will join 24 departments across the state.
"These graduates join the more than 100,000 brave men and women serving in the fire departments across this great state who, with dedication and courage, respond to emergencies day and night to protect us all," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement. "I congratulate these New Yorkers on this significant accomplishment, and thank them for their commitment to public service."
