Fifteen Albany residents were displaced from their homes after a fire consumed a vacant building in the Sheridan Hollow neighborhood overnight. The Albany Fire Department received a call for the fire at 124 Lark St. at about 3 a.m. Saturday, according to Chief Warren Abriel Jr. The three-story, brick building had heavy flames when firefighters arrived and the fire was rapidly spreading to a next door building on Sheridan Avenue that was separated by a 12-foot alleyway. Abriel said it took about an hour to get the fire under control. There were no apparent injuries.
