The Auburn Fire Department on Sunday reported the passing of retired Chief R. Michael Harmon. Chief Harmon served 28 years and retired in 1995. Chief Michael Harmon was 74. Current Chief Joe Morabito grew up across the street from the Harmon family. He calls his predecessor a firefighter’s firefighter. He adds Chief Harmon was a leader in the firehouse and after he retired. Calling hours for Chief Harmon will be on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at White Chapel Funeral Home on South Street, with the funeral Thursday at 10:30am at Holy Family Church on North St.
