Two Rochester firefighters have been transported to the Hospital with burn injuries following a fire on Spencer Street Monday night according to American Medical Response. Fire crews responded to the fire at around 4 p.m. to find smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the two-story home. First responders say blames broke out in a second floor apartment and engulfed the front of the house and a porch. A child discovered the fire in an upstairs closet according to the Rochester Fire Department. The apartment suffered heavy fire damage, including the downstairs apartment which was vacant at the time. The Red Cross is working with the two adults and children that live in the home to find them shelter. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
