Seven firefighters from the East Williston Fire Department will be honored next week for aiding a resident in 2017.
Firefighters from the department and other regional emergency medical services will receive awards for their service at the Nassau Regional EMS Council Awards on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
The East Williston Fire Department also recognized the rescue as its ambulance call of the year at the annual awards dinner in April.
Department Chief Patrick Theodore and Jonathan Viola are being named the Basic Life Support Provider of the Year.
“It’s an honor to be recognized,” Theodore said. “Everybody did a great job that day and it was a phenomenal team effort.”
David Black, Vincent Delgatto, Nicholas DiPasquale, Kevin O’Donnell and Cesar Romero have also received honorable mention for the award.
