Vacant House fire on Northside of Syracuse sends person to hospital

Syracuse Fire Department responded to a boarded-up home on East Laurel St. showing signs of being on fire around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed there was an active fire, and a signal 99 was transmitted. Firefighters found a civilian injured, outside of the home when they arrived, they were transported to the hospital. The injured civilians condition was unknown as of 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Firefighters confirmed there were no other people around the property and put the fire out. The home is considered a complete loss from fire and water damage. No firefighters were injured while responding to the scene.
