Firefighters said three vehicles and a home were damaged in an early morning fire on Maryland Avenue in Dayton Monday. Crews were initially dispatched to the 300 block of Maryland Avenue after a neighbor reported a car fire around 3:20 a.m. First firefighters on the scene reported the fire had spread to the adjacent home and requested a full structure fire response. Dayton Fire District Chief Paul Raisch said three vehicles in all were on fire next to the home as the fire spread to the home. “The head from the fire was infringing on the house and melted some of the siding,” Raisch said. “There doesn’t appear to be any internal damage.” The cause of the fire was not specified by firefighters, but is considered suspicious.
