The Lake Township Trustees have been served notice that their ambulance contract with a Toledo company is on life support.
At Tuesday's meeting, the township's police and fire chiefs said they are prepared to ask the trustees to put a 1-mill levy on the November ballot to supplement ambulance service, which is now shared with the township volunteers and Lifestar. The new levy, which would be in addition to a 0.8-mill continuing levy for EMS service, would generate about $230,000 annually.
"It sounds like they're going to pull the plug on us," said Trustee Richard Welling.
