Fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire that burned a vacant North Toledo home this morning. It happened on the 3000-block of N. Erie Street. The home has been reduced to a pile of rubble. The fire overnight was so intense that the family living in the next house over had to be evacuated. Neighbors say it all happened after 1:30 Saturday morning and the house was fully involved. Toledo firefighters say the home was filled garbage and debris which fueled the fire and made it difficult for crews to battle the flames. In some places the trash was stacked two to three feet high. One neighbor we talked with says he called police Friday afternoon because he saw suspicious activity at the property and feels this was no accidental blaze.
