A house caught on fire and spread to the home next door in east Columbus Saturday morning. The incident happened on the 1300 block of East Fulton Street around 5 a.m. according to authorities. Columbus Fire Department Battalion Chief Anthony Brooks says the home was fully engulfed when crews arrived. The fire then spread to the windows and attic of the house next door. Authorities say they aren’t sure if anyone was in the first home that burned down. No one was inside the second home. No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is unknown. Authorities say a squatter could have played a role in the fire. Arson investigators are looking into the incident.
