Constructing a new home or office is a project where success often depends on having a good building plan. And to come up with such a plan, it's best to proceed carefully and thoughtfully. Based on that idea, we like the approach that Concord Township and its Fire Department are taking as they embark on the early stages of plans for building two new fire stations. The township recently selected LeMay Erickson Willcox of Virginia to be the principal architect. Concord Fire Department leaders recently met with the firm to discuss the fire program and space requirements, and establish a plan for the department's future. The two firehouses currently in the township were built in the mid-1960s with the intent to have a life span of 50 years. Station 1 originally was built as the community center and is located at 11600 Concord-Hambden Road. Station 2 is based at 10154 Prouty Road.
