Firefighters responded to a structure fire Jan. 11 at the Elyria Foundry, 120 Filbert St.
At about 12:30 p.m., Elyria fire Assistant Chief Joe Pronesti said an electrical fire broke out in a tunnel below the building involving the motor of their conveyor belt system.
There were no reported injuries to firefighters or employees, Pronesti said.
“It wasn’t a bad fire, but the biggest problem is putting guys down there,” he said.
