A 2-year-old was sent to the hospital after being burned in a grease fire on Thursday night.
The child was burned on their face and their torso in a residence in the Camelot Apartments in Fairfield around 8 p.m.
A grease fire started in a pot while someone was cooking in the residence. One of the residents carried the pot outside and, while doing so, spilled some of the hot grease that was aflame.
In that moment, the hot grease splashed on a 2-year-old. Eventually, the fire was put out with a fire extinguisher.
The child's father and a neighbor took the child to Mercy Hospital and then the child was flown by AirCare to Children's hospital.
