One man is dead and two emergency medical technicians injured after a North Central EMS ambulance driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to go off the road and into a ravine while traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 6 near Helen Drive in Vermilion at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
The ambulance was carrying one patient, David McNeil, 76, who was killed in the crash.
The driver, Levi Hunter, 26, of Ashland, was injured and taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain. Katherine Tusing, 49, of Collins, who was attending to McNeil in the back of the vehicle when it crashed, was flown to the University of Toledo Medical Center.
