A village council member suggested they should revisit the fire service contract they have with Center and Elkrun townships following a minor dispute over the shared cost of fire department insurance. Council agreed at this week’s meeting to renew its fire department liability insurance policy with Public Entities Pool of Ohio, a self insurance program for government agencies and communities in Ohio, at a cost of $9,875. The action came two weeks after council voted to renew coverage for $13,447. The cost is split three ways with Center and Elkrun townships, which contract with Lisbon for fire protection.
