Three area fire departments received generous donations from an Ohio Valley business on Tuesday. With the money, the firefighters and the community will be much safer. Cumberland Trail Fire Department, along with the Barnesville Fire Department and Short Creek Fire District, purchased new equipment, thanks to JB Green Team. Cumerland Trail Lt. Curtis Kyer said JB Green Team puts out a grant every year for recycled cribbing, All three departments applied for the grant money, and in turn, purchased $4,200 worth of vehicle stabilization equipment. "It replaces old, outdated hardwoods that we used to use,” Kyer said. “This stuff is actually a lot lighter and will actually hold more weight and will also improve our safety because we can get more of it in our engine."
