The Barnesville community came together Sunday afternoon to celebrate retiring Fire Chief Robert Smith. Smith has worked at the Barnesville Fire Department for 50 years. He served the last 20 years as Fire Chief but come May 31st, he will officially be retired. His fellow firefighters, friends and family gathered at the fire department for a surprise party to celebrate Smith's retirement. Smith says has been proud to serve his community over the last five decades and he is looking forward to this next chapter. Sunday he was just thankful to have such supportive friends, family and colleagues.
