A group of seven people who survived suffering a cardiac arrest reunited with the Columbus first responders who helped save their lives Thursday.
The Columbus Division of Fire held it's annual Cardiac Arrest Survivors Celebration at its local union hall as part of EMS week.
Paramedics respond to an average of three cardiac events every day in Columbus, but only 10 percent typically survive, fire officials said. Kimber Perfect was one of them.
Perfect, who works as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Communication in Mayor Andrew Ginther's Office, collapsed on a sidewalk downtown.
A pair of bystanders assisted her, including calling 911 and beginning CPR, until paramedics arrived.
