A Riverside home sustained significant damage after fire ripped through the structure Monday afternoon. Firefighters from Riverside, Dayton, Fairborn, Beavercreek, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base all responded to the house in the 400 block of Ketcham Street around 1:30 p.m. Three people, an adult and two children were home when the fire broke out but were able to get out safely, Riverside Fire Battalion Chief Jim Hart said. Two dogs also evacuated safely, but a cat is still unaccounted for, Hart said. The fire appears to have started in the kitchen, Hart said, however the cause remains under investigation. No injuries were reported. Damage to the home is significant and described as “unlivable” by Hart. Additional details were not available.
