Norwalk council got an up-close and personal look at the new fire station following Tuesday’s work session. Fire Chief John Soisson conducted a tour of the new facility, set to open sometime in October, weather permitting. The project was set behind with this winter’s harsh weather, but Soisson said work is progressing and the end is in sight.
The new building will have a community meeting room, living and work quarters, a triage area, five bays and everything to cary the city for years to come.
Most of council session was taken up by housekeeping work in preparation for next Tuesday’s regular session beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Also attending the meeting was Heather Horowitz, executive direction of the Norwalk Economic Development Corp. Horowitz outlined the NEDC’s projects and invited council to attend another information session in October when it has a night off.
