It's a call that could come at any moment and Tuesday first responders made sure they're ready to react. "This is what we call a 'full-scale' exercise," said deputy director of Wood County's Emergency Management Agency Jeff Klein.
Firefighters, police and paramedics all put their skills to the test in a mock crash involving a semi hauling hazardous acetone along Tracy Road.
"There's so many hazardous chemicals and things like that that are out on the roads today," said Klein. "People don't really realize it."
The seemingly real-life training is something that's required every year by law. Emergency management leaders say it's good practice that ensures crews are ready to respond when push comes to shove.
"It's important for any first responder to know 100 percent exactly what they're going to do, when they're going to do things, and how everybody fits together," said Klein.
