A Bath Township home is a total loss after an early morning fire on Saturday (9/24/18). Bath Township Fire Department responded to 3465 Early Ave. a little after 2 a-m. Upon arrival, they found heavy smoke throughout the attic of the home and fire coming out of the front. They were not immediately able to enter because of a large number of possessions in and around the home blocking the way. It took about two and a half hours to extinguish the fire. It was occupied at the time of the fire but all eight people were out of the house by the time firefighters arrived. Only one occupant received minor injuries but they refused treatment for them. The house is considered a total loss estimated at $87,500 in property damage, plus $40,000 more in lots of contents. The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents. As of now, the fire is considered to be suspicious in nature and the State Marshal's Office along with the Allen County Sheriff's Office is investigating alongside the fire department.
