Firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire Tuesday afternoon in the 4000 block of Station Avenue.
The call came into the Ashtabula Fire Department at 12:45 p.m., according to dispatcher reports. When firefighters arrived on the scene a few minutes later, they found flames coming out of the first-story rear windows, according to reports.
All five occupants and their pets safely exited the red and green two-story, wood structure before firefighters arrived on the scene.
No one was injured.
Firefighters battled the blaze in the cold for one-and-a-half hours, spraying water into the rear of the structure, where smoke billowed out for some time, despite the soaking. They also threw out burnt furniture from the burnt portion of the house.
